At BOOTES, we believe that innovation in construction is not just about building structures but creating landmarks that inspire, sustain, and transform lives. One such milestone is the Jhansi Library, a project that stands as a testament to speed, sustainability, and community impact.
Recently, the Jhansi Library achieved the prestigious EDGE Certification (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. This recognition highlights its world-class sustainability standards and innovative design that significantly reduce energy, water, and material usage.
Constructed in just 90 days, the Jhansi Library had earlier set a record for being Asia’s fastest construction project. This feat was achieved through meticulous planning, cutting-edge technology, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The library has since become a cornerstone for the community, providing thousands of students with a safe and modern learning environment.
Key Sustainability Achievements:
- 100% Energy Savings: Powered entirely by on-site renewable energy, including solar panels and energy-efficient cooling systems.
- 29% Water Conservation: Integrates rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling systems, making it a model for sustainable water management.
- 34% Reduction in Embodied Carbon: Utilizes locally sourced, low-impact materials, supporting a circular economy and reducing the environmental footprint.
A Vision Aligned with India’s Net-Zero Goals
The Jhansi Library aligns with India’s Net-Zero Vision 2070, announced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at COP26. As a symbol of sustainable innovation, it showcases how infrastructure can contribute to decarbonizing our economy while fostering community well-being.
Jhansi, a city celebrated for its historic legacy of Rani Lakshmi Bai, now takes a step toward a sustainable future with the library. The facility is more than a building—it is a space that empowers students, nurtures talent, and reflects the resilience and innovation of our people.
Setting New Benchmarks
The Jhansi Library is more than a project; it is a replicable model for green public infrastructure. By integrating sustainability into every aspect of its design and construction, it sets a benchmark for how public spaces can drive positive environmental and social impact.
As we move forward, BOOTES is committed to constructing over 500 Net-Zero projects by 2030, including decentralized off-grid buildings, data centers, cold storage facilities, and converting over 100 brownfield buildings into net-zero greenfield structures. Our mission is clear: to pave the way for a sustainable, resilient, and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
